Last week, CLCID’s legislative advocate Linda Panattoni met with IDCC’s lobbyist Susan Stuart and her assistant Erin Evans-Fudem, to discuss a collaborative, first ever, “Walk the Capitol” event. It was very productive meeting, resulting in members of IDCC wanting to join the already scheduled CLCID “Walk the Capitol”, on March 12th. It will be the first time that CLCID and IDCC will be walking the Capitol for a common cause, “Protecting the Right to Practice”.
It is extremely important for ALL Interior Designers to be united if we want to be able to “Protect the Right to Practice”. As you may remember last year the Architects, AIACA, introduced AB2192 that was a potential threat to all interior designer’s right to practice. Both associations opposed this bill and it was finally pulled from the Senate Committee hearing. This type of collaboration is good for our profession. Please consider joining us on March 12th, please contact president@CLCID.org to let us know if you plan to attend!
Packets containing information on both of our associations along with common talking points will be given to those in attendance. These packets will then be given to the members of theSenate Standing Committee on Business, Professions and Economic Development Committee and the members of the Assembly Committee on Business and Professions. We will focus on the members of each committee that have representatives from both associations present on the Walk.
A list of the members of the Senate Business, Professions & Economic Development Committee and the Assembly Business and Professions Committee are provided below. Please see if your representative is listed on one of the committees. If so, it would be great to have you “Walk the Capitol” with us. Please email us at president@CLCID.organd let us know that we can count on you to help “Protect the Right to Practice”.
